Investigation Summary
At 12:30 p.m. on March 14, 2018, Employee #1, a meat cutter, was cutting a small flat piece of meat (pork neck). The employee was using a Biro brand meat band s aw, which is equipped with a pusher plate to be used when cutting small pieces o f meat. As he pushed the pork neck into the blade of the saw, without using the pusher plate, his right pinky finger came in contact with the blade and amputate d his fingertip. Employee #1 was transported to a nearby hospital where he was t reated and released.
