Investigation Summary
At 8:45 a.m. on March 2, 2018, an employee was working in a welding shop of an agricultural and farming company, where he typically performs repairs and maintenance on tractors, custom tillage work, and sprinkler systems. As the employee was repairing a tri-plane, belonging to a large tractor, a metal sprinkler pipe and air device fitted to the pipe exploded. Numerous metal parts became airborne and struck the employee in his abdomen. He suffered multiple fractures to his ribs, among other traumatic injuries, resulting in his death.
