Employee's finger is amputated when struck by ball valve

At 12:00 p.m. on February 8, 2018, an employee was performing a metal test on a PAPA Blender Line. As he was checking the location of a ball valve, he placed left middle finger inside the ball valve. The valve cycled and amputated the finger at its first joint/knuckle. The employee was hospitalized.
