Investigation Summary
At 1:45 p.m. on December 19, 2017, an employee was repairing an I-beam on the west side of the plant and was welding from an elevated work platform that was attached to a forklift. The employee leaned to get the next piece for welding and the work platform tipped off of the forks. The employee fell approximately 10 feet and received multiple injuries, including multiple pelvic fractures, a laceration to his right elbow, and a concussion. The employee was taken to Tri-City Emergency Room and was later transferred to Scripps La Jolla, where he was admitted to the hospital and released on Dec 22, 2017.
