Employee Is Caught By Auger And Partially Amputates Lower Fo

At 7:45 p.m. on October 21, 2017, an employee was cleaning and sanitizing a DS 4 1 Recirc Laser Reject Auger for raisin production. The employee reached his han d into the auger to remove some debris that would not come out when sprayed with water and caught his left forearm just above his wrist in the auger. The emplo yee partially severed his left hand, wrist, and part of his forearm. The employ ee was hospitalized for three days.
