Employee injured in cave-in of trench excavation

Employee #1 was installing sewer pipe in a 15-foot-deep excavation. The excavation had near vertical sides when it caved in, trapping Employee #1 for approximately three hours. Employee #1 was dug out by fire rescue personnel, and was hospitalized with contusions.
