Employee injured when struck by chain hook

Employee #1, of Gunderson, Inc., Portland, OR, was moving six refurbished rail cars with a capstan, rope, and chain hook. During the operation he was standing clear of the area, approximately 8 ft to the side of the cars, when the hook dropped free and struck him in the forehead. He suffered a concussion and was hospitalized. The towing procedure has now been changed.
