EMPLOYEE BURNED BY HOT WATER

At 1:15 p.m. on February 2, 1998, a vacuum truck driver for William E. Mashburn and Sons, Inc., was unloading 180-degree-Fehrenheit hot water at the Arco West W and S Tank Farm using truck number 18. While unloading the water into the Valley Waste line, the 4-ft hose came loose at the connection to the truck and hot water sprayed onto the employee. He suffered multiple burns and was transported to Fresno Burn Center. He was later transferred to Sherman Oaks Burn center for further treatment.
