Employee injured in fall when ladder slips down

At approximately 12:00 p.m. on May 13, 1997, Employee #1, who worked for Robinson Presioso, Inc., was on a 15 ft 6 in. high extension ladder. The ladder slipped down the wall, carrying Employee #1 with it. He fractured his right upper leg and was in the hospital for eight days. Although there were violations associated with this accident, no citations were issued because the employer met the requirements to establish the defense of independent employee action.
