Employee falls from ladder and brakes left leg

On May 21, 2010, Employee #1, a laborer of Spiniello Companies, fell from an extension ladder. Employee #1 was using an extension ladder to climb down into the excavation to begin pipe cleaning work. He stated that as he was climbing down, he slipped and fell into the open pipe. Employee #1 states that he does not know why he slipped. It is unknown what type of extension ladder was used. Employee #1 was taken to California Hospital by a supervisor. He received surgery and was hospitalized for a fractured lower leg.
