Employee Lacerates Finger on Meat Cutting Saw

On December 1, 2006, Employee #1, a meat clerk in an Asian food grocery store, was cutting a frozen chicken for a customer on a Butcher Boy meat saw, Model Number 1640S, Serial Number 906S252. He was distracted when customer kept calling him. As he turned to his left and tried to turn off the meat saw, his right middle finger was caught by the saw blade and was cut at the first knuckle. He was hospitalized and released the same day. Further investigation revealed that the saw blade guard was not in use at the time of accident.
