Employee Is Killed When Run Over by Garbage Truck

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on September 15, 2004, Employee #1 was injured while working for Crown Disposal Company Incorporated (CDCI). The accident occurred in the middle of intersection on Crescent Drive and Clifton Way in the city of Beverly Hills, Los Angeles County. Employee #1 and another employee were collecting trash using a front end loader refuse truck. They finished collecting trash from a construction site and were leaving the site. Employee #1 was in the middle of the intersection directing traffic, and the other employee was driving the truck. Employee #1 lost his footing as he tried to mount the refuse truck and was run over and pinned under the truck. He sustained lacerations and a crushing injury to both legs as a result of the accident. Employee #1 was transported to Cedar Sanai Medical Center, where he died as a result of his injuries.
