Employee Sustains Fractures When Pinned by Ropes

On July 10, 2008, Employee #1 was delivering several small John Deere excavators to a customer. The customer's employee was unloading the machines and parking them in a sales yard, located in Bakersfield, California. Employee #1 decided to unload the last machine himself. He started it up and the machine jumped and fell off of the trailer. He rode it down and was pinned down by the machine's ropes. Employee #1 sustained fractures to his upper body. Employee #1 was taken to Kern Medical Center, located in Bakersfield, California, and was hospitalized.
