Employee injured when finger contacts live conveyor belt

At approximately 9:30 a.m. on December 18, 2002, Employee #1 was working for a video production company when the employee's finger came in contact with a live conveyor belt. The accident occurred on line 5s conveyor belt system. The employee was making some minor adjustments on the system while it was active when his long sleeve work shirt came in contact with the belt and drew his finger into the conveyor. Employee #1 admitted overriding the safety system in order to do the adjustments. Employee #1 sustained a tip amputation of the right little finger, but was not hospitalized.
