Employee falls from scaffold

At approximately 8:13 a.m. on May 4, 2004, an employee had partially dismantled a metal scaffold. The employee was removing scaffold planks from the fourth story while standing on the third story level. The section of scaffold the employee was working from had a top and mid-rails as well as three planks. He lost his balance and fell through the guardrails, 21 feet to the ground. The employee sustained a fractured arm and internal injuries, and was hospitalized at VCMC Hospital.
