Investigation Summary
At approximately 11:15 a.m. on January 4, 1999, a tree trimming employee was trimming branches for clearance of a high voltage line. He used climbing gear to clime a tree that was covered with ivy and stood on a branch to conduct the trimming. After about 30 minutes, the branch he was standing on broke and the branch he was tied to bent, causing his safety rope to slip off. He fell 15 ft to the ground and fractured his back, for which he was hospitalized.
