Employee injured when loader falls down mountainside

On March 10, 1998, Employee #1 was using a 980 F loader to clear mud and debris from a mountain road, about 40 ft above the San Gabriel River. The road gave way, and Employee #1 and the loader tumbled down the side of the mountain. Employee #1 sustained heavy bruises and lacerations to his face and to the back of his neck. He was wearing his seat belt.
