Employee Falls From Roof Suffers Mulitple Fractures

At approximately 10 a.m. on January 9, 1999, Employee #1, a construction worker, fractured his knee, heel of his left foot, and leg after falling off a steeply sloped roof. He was renovating a residence located in Los Angeles, California. His employer is a general contractor. He was on the roof with other employees nailing down the sheeting on the trusses. None of the employees used any type of fall protection. He fell when he lost his grip and footing. He fell about 10 to 12 feet. As a result, he suffered a broken left heel and fractured his right knee and leg. He was hospitalized for treatments for his fractures.
