Employee amputates two fingers on unguarded crosscut saw

Employee #1, who was the foreman of a woodworking shop, was cutting a piece of wood using a Delta Unisa which is a 10-in. Tilting Arbor Crosscut saw. There was no guard, nor any hood provided to cover the saw blade. Employee #1's middle and ring fingers got caught by the blade and were amputated. Employee #1 was taken to a local hospital to treat the amputation injuries.
