Employee Fingers Amputated by Rotating Blade of a Table Saw

On December 4, 2003, Employee #1 worked for an automobile stereo installation center. Employee #1 was cutting a piece of particle board using an unguarded table saw that kicked forward, drawing his hand to the rotating blade. Three of Employee #1's fingers on his left hand were amputated. Employee #1 stated that he had not received any safety training from management, and that he made requests to management prior to the accident to provide him with a saw with a guard. Employee #1 was hospitalized and treated for his injuries.
