Employee Burned By Hot Plastic

At approximately 6:30 p.m. on December 21, 1999, Employee #1, a maintenance worker for Rejrig Pacific Company, was assigned to open a hot plastic injection mold. The accident site was located in building Number 4040 of the facility. Employee #1 was opening the hot plastic injection mold by taking out screws from a cylinder assembly. While taking out the last screw, the cylinder ejected from its position and hot plastic sprayed onto Employee #1. Employee #1 sustained severe second-degree burns to his face, neck, hands, and arms and was hospitalized.
