Employee Suffers Amputation

At approximately 7:30 p.m. on March 6, 2000, Employee #1 was attempting to clean the grease of an in-running roller in motion with his left-gloved hand. The machine involved in the incident was the Contour Machine manufactured by Ryerson Lown Serial No. B6156. The in-running roller caught the glove and pulled the Employee #1's left hand into the nip points, crushing it. Employee #1 suffered amputation of the left ring finger to the bed nail, and middle finger to the second knuckle. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
