Investigation Summary
At 12:45 p.m. on August 25, 2017, Employee #1 was cleaning cotton lint that had built up on the rotating saw blade of the de-linter. The employee was wearing gloves and using a wooden stick to remove the build up. The rotating saw blade pulled the stick, the glove, and then his hand into the rotating saw. Employee #1 sustained a broken wrist and multiple finger amputations on one hand. The employee was hospitalized and later required to have his hand removed.
