Investigation Summary
At approximately 10:30 a.m. on June 18, 2003, Employee #1 was working as a foreman for Palla Rosa Farms, in Bakersfield, CA. Employee #1 noticed a leak from a 4-in. water line on the roof of the dairy and called his supervisor and a fellow employee for help. They told him that they would respond later. Employee #1 shut the water off from the ground, got a ladder and climbed onto the roof. As he was walking to the area where he saw the leak, he stepped through a fiberglass skylight, and fell approximately 10 ft to the concrete floor. When Employee #1 was found, emergency personnel were called, and he was transported to Kern Medical Center in Bakersfield, where he was admitted and treated for multiple injuries.
