Employee fractures hip in fall from roof

On February 5, 2002, Employee #1, employed by a roofing contactor, was tacking down a roofing felt on the roof of a new home at a new single housing construction project in Tulare, California. Employee #1 got to the edge of the roof and stepped on a piece of felt that he did not tack down. The piece of felt slid off the edge of the roof causing Employee #1 to fall 8.5 ft to the ground. Employee #1 sustained a broken hip and leg, and was taken to Dr. Burton L Redd's office in Visalia, California for emergency treatment.
