Employee's forearm injured when caught in paper trim press

At approximately 9:41 a.m. on September 21, 2001, Employee #1 of the Prime Papers Incorporated tried to place a hammer inside the gear box housing of a "LAWSON", Model Number MPU 110, a paper trim press. Employee #1's right arm inadvertently got caught between the moving cam block and the inner side of the housing when it cycled. Employee #1 sustained severe laceration and crushing injury of his right forearm. Employee #1 was taken to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center in Colton, California for treatment. Employee #1 was hospitalized for 5 days and two surgeries were performed.
