Employee receives chemical burns on foot

At 6:30 a.m. on June 4, 2001, Employee #1, who was working for Riverside Detail, began to put on a pair of rubber boots. In doing so, he received chemical burns on his right foot because the boots contained a chemical (Wheel Cleaner). Employee #1 was taken of an occupational clinic where he was treated and released after a couple of hours. At about 9:30 p.m. that night, Employee #1 experienced an allergic reaction to the medication he had received at the clinic, and was taken to Palm View Hospital. He was later transferred to the burn unit at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center where he received skin grafting on his foot.
