Event: 09/19/2005
Employee Fractures Wrist in Fall from Roof

On September 19, 2005, Employee #1, a painter, was working overhead from the roof of a lower level room, distressing, sanding and painting the second story fascia board. As he worked his way along, he got caught up with sanding the fascia board. Employee #1's safety goggles were covered with dust, and were a bit fogged. Consequently, he lost track of his position and stepped off the roof. He fell approximately 10 ft and struck against the ground. Employee #1 sustained a distal radius comminuted intra-articular displaced fracture of the left wrist. He was transported to the hospital, where a surgery was performed. Employee was hospitalized for more than 24 hours.
