Employee's Finger Is Amputated in Table Saw

On July 11, 2005, Employee #1 was cutting wood on a tilting arbor table saw manufactured by Jet, Serial Number 010109. The blade on the table saw was dull which required him to place pressure on the wood to push it through the saw blade. As he was cutting a piece of wood, it became stuck, kicked back, and then quickly went through the blade. The employee's hand contacted the blade and his right middle finger was amputated. He was hospitalized with his injury. Further investigation revealed that the saw did not have a guard.
