Event: 08/01/2003
Employee falls from hay truck

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on August 1, 2003, Employee #1 of Ott Farm, was attempting to climb down hay bales stacked on a trailer truck. He was on top of the hay bales, approximately 14 ft from the ground, in the middle of the load loosening the tightening device that holds the hay bales in place during transportation. He put pressure on his left foot as he grabbed the belt with his right hand and leaned towards the edge, when the hook on the belt became loose, and caused him fall to the ground. Employee #1 was taken to Pioneer Memorial Hospital in Brawley, California by ambulance.
