Investigation Summary
On February 24, 1997, Employee #1, the driver of a trash transfer truck, was descending a ladder between the driver's cabin and the trailer of his vehicle when he lost his balance and fell. As he went down, his right hand became caught in a moving belt and pulley drive near the base of the ladder. Two of his fingers were amputated, and a third finger was seriously injured. Employee #1 was taken to Fountain Valley Regional Hospital for treatment.
