Employee's fingers amputated by rollers

Employee #1 was operating a machine that processes large rolls of raw paper material into tablets, booklets, and covers. The machine has a series of unguarded rolls that move the material along. When Employee #1 attempted to remove excess ink from one of the rolls with his finger, his hand was pulled into the rolls. His third and little fingers were completely amputated, and his first and ring fingers were amputated to the second knuckle.
