Employee Dies after Being Backed over by Truck

At or about 12:15 p.m. on June 08, 2005, Employee #1 was a regular employee working as a clerk in quality control for Lucky Star Marketing, LLC, at a farm field in Ontario, CA. Lucky Star buys farm produce from growers and sells it to wholesale dealers. At the time of the accident, Employee #1 and a driver for another firm, Stanley and Sons, were talking about the business while standing at the farm fields. After the discussion, both walked to a 7.5 ton Isuzu bobtail truck, and the driver gave Employee #1 a bottle of cold water. The driver got in the truck and backed it up, not noticing that he was running over Employee #1. Employee #1 sustained serious bodily injuries and was taken to the Arrowhead Regional Medical Center, in Colton, CA., for treatment. His condition continued to deteriorate, and he died at the hospital at 7:30 a.m. on June 10, 2005.
