Employee's Finger Is Amputated by Jointer Blade

At approximately 9:00 a.m. on November 30, 2005, Employee #1 was operating a 6-in. jointer (#87) to cut a 35-in. by 3.5-in. by 0.5-in. piece of wood board. She was pushing the board with her both hands. The jointer kicked back the wood board, forcing her left fingers to contact the running blade. Her left ring finger was amputated, and her left little finger was lacerated.
