Employee fractures legs in fall from ladder

Employee #1, a maintenance engineer, was on an aluminum extension ladder, performing overhead work between shipping doors #7 and #8. He finished his work and had started down the ladder when his foot caught one of the rungs. He lost his balance and fell 12 ft 6 in. onto the concrete dock floor. Employee #1 fractured both legs and was taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. There were no apparent violations of existing safety standards.
