Carpenter injured in fall at apartment construction site

Employee #1, a carpenter, was at a height of approximately 12 ft, working on the second floor of an apartment. He was aware that the floor jutted in about 3 or 4 ft, but he stood up and walked straight forward. Employee #1 fell between 8 and 9 ft to the ground, sustaining four fractured ribs, a fractured left toe, and a fractured jaw.
