Investigation Summary
On June 19, 2000, Employee #1 was situated near a free-standing, 5 ft wide by 8.5 ft tall concrete masonry wall at the site of the interior renovation of a cannery. A Bobcat operator transporting a 16 ft long I-beam struck the wall with one end of the beam, causing the wall to collapse. Employee #1 was struck from behind by the falling wall. He suffered crushing injuries to his left leg, for which he was hospitalized.
