Employee injured when finger amputated installing piping

On January 21, 2000, Employee #1, a laborer for this contractor, was installing piping at the Chevron Refinery. Employee #1 received an amputation injury to the right middle finger when it was caught between the end of a 4-inch diameter pipe and a support beam during installation of the piping. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
