Employee Is Injured When Struck by Falling Tree

On October 5, 2005, Employee #1, a timber faller, was cutting trees on an uphill slope. As he cut one of the trees, it hit a stump and pivoted sideways, causing Employee #1 to run to his left to try to avoid the tree. The tree struck his left leg and threw him to the ground, fracturing his hip and left tibia. He was hospitalized for his injuries.
