Event: 05/03/2012
Employee Is Fatally Crushed by Wall Collapse

On May 3, 2012 Employees #1, #2 and #3 of Ken's Firewood were demolishing an old building by hand for salvage rights. Apparently Employee #1 was using a hand-held battery-powered screw driver to remove two sheets of plywood that covered windows on the west-facing exterior wall. For reasons yet unknown, the wall which measured approximately 34 feet in height by 90 feet long collapsed and fell backward onto Employee #1 causing crushing-type injuries. Employee #1 was removed from the debris and transported to a local hospital then air-lifted to a regional hospital where he died from his injuries 3 days later. The accident was not witnessed by the other employees or the residence owner.
