Employee Seriously Injured in Logging Acident

Employee #1 was at the side of his loaded log truck preparing to throw a wrapper over the load of logs so he could move the truck to a tied down area away from the loading spot. The operator of the heel boom loader swung a log over the loaded truck. The heel plate on the loader boom struck the peaker log on the loaded truck, causing it to fall and strike Employee #1. Employee #1 was knocked to the ground with the log laying on him. Employee #1 sustained a fractured pelvis and internal injuries, and was hospitalized for several days.
