Employee Injured in Fall from Grader

On February 3, 2007, Employee #1, an equipment operator for the road maintenance division of Humboldt County, California, was preparing to operate a John Deere 670 B grader. He stepped on the trunnion to go to the back window to clean the window glass, slipped, and fell to the ground. He injured his right thigh, but was able to operate the grader for a couple of hours until the pain in his leg was unbearable. He was taken to a hospital, where he underwent surgery to remove a blood clot in his right leg.
