Investigation Summary
On September 20, 2002, Employee #1 was operating a Caterpillar 245 Heel boom log loader at a sawmill. He was holding several logs in the grapple and was raising them above his loader when the logs apparently shifted. A piece of one log broke off and fell, striking the loader. It went through the glass window at the top of the cab and landed between Employee #1's legs, pinching his left upper leg against the seat. He sustained multiple bruises.
