Roofer injured in fall from roof

At about 10:30 a.m. on January 25, 2002, Employee #1, a carpenter/roofer with Michael Kirack Construction Co., was placing self-adhesive ice dam material at the eave of the roof of a single family home in Susanville, CA. He stepped on a discarded piece of the wax paper ice dam backing, slid off the roof, and fell 13 ft. Employee #1 was hospitalized at Washoe Medical Center in Reno, NV with fractures of his ankles and lower legs.
