Employee injured when his finger tips were caught in machine

At approximately 12:10 p.m. on September 7, 2001, an employee working as a cabinet maker by Derek's Design, Inc. was seriously injured. The accident occurred when the employee was removing the burrs from the edges of a 6 by 7 inch piece of sheet metal in a horizontal position, resting at the edge of the support table of a 24-foot disk. The tips of two fingers were sanded down near the finger joint before the machine was stopped. He was treated for his injuries and released from the hospital.
