Employee's arm fractured when caught in conveyor belt pulley

Employee #1, an assembler, was packing a box with product logs when his left arm was pulled into a conveyor belt and wrapped partially around the end pulley. He sustained severe compound fractures but managed to pull his arm free. Employee #1's coworkers saw him run to the office, where he fell to the floor and passed out from the pain. He was transported to the hospital, where he underwent emergency surgery and was treated for three days. It was estimated that Employee #1 would be out of work for six months due to the severity of the injury.
