Employee amputated fingers on cut off saw

An employee was adjusting the abrasive wheel height on a 20-in. Tabor metal cut off saw without first deenergizing the saw. The employee sustained amputation injuries to two fingers on his left hand and compound fractures to the left arm and wrist. The employee was hospitalized.
