Employee falls from a bridge while removing railing

Employee #1 was in the process of removing fall protection apparatus from a bridge at the end of the night shift when he fell 140 ft from the road deck to the water. He sustained an amputation of his left arm at the shoulder, a fractured pelvis, and a broken left leg. Employee #1 was hospitalized.
