Carpenter injures finger after saw hits nail

On March 21, 2002, Employee #1, a carpenter with Sierra Bay Contractors, Inc., was building an attic access curb for a school building under construction. As he was shaving the end of the curb with a circular saw, it apparently hit a nail which flew out and struck his left ring finger. He was hospitalized for a partially amputated finger.
