Event: 05/29/2000
Employee's ankles fractured in fall from metal scaffold

On May 29, 2000, Employee #1, a carpenter, was on a metal frame scaffold placing siding on a single-family home in Tahoe City, CA. He was taking measurements and attaching the siding as a coworker made cuts on the ground. The coworker was handing Employee #1 a piece of siding when he lost his balance and fell 10 ft off the end of the scaffold, next to a ladder. He landed on his feet, crushing both ankles. Employee #1 was administered first aid by local paramedics before being transported to Tahoe Forest Hospital. He was admitted for four days for treatment of fractures to both ankles and heels.
